The reward for a man wanted for an Aug. 6 murder on a rural highway has increased to $10,000, the RCMP and other law enforcement agencies announced Aug. 23.

Elijah Blake Strawberry, 28, is wanted after a Rockyview County employee was killed and a power line employee shot and injured in an apparent car-jacking attempt earlier this month.

Another man, Arthur Wayne Penner, 35, of Edmonton, was charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder on Aug. 12. He is in custody but Strawberry has eluded police.

RCMP in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan are offering up to $10,000 for information that leads to his arrest.

Tips are to be provided to RCMP at the Strathmore detachment (403-934-3535) or by calling 911. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Strawberry has a light complexion, stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 169 pounds with brown hair and several tattoos on his arm and face.
