Cornfest 50/50: Volunteer Sign-Up Now Open

Posted on August 15, 2024 by Taber Times

Taber Food Bank

We had a successful Cornstock 50/50 and are now gearing up for Cornfest 50/50. Thank you for volunteering in the past—without your help, our fundraising efforts would not be possible. As you are aware, Food Bank demand is on the rise, so awareness and fundraising are more important than ever.

Event Details: From Thursday to Saturday during Cornfest, we will be selling $20,000 50/50 tickets, with the winner taking home $10,000. We’ll also be hosting the famous AVAIL Plinko Board. On Sunday at 8 am, we will sort recycling from the Kinsmen beer garden.

Why Volunteer? Cornfest is one of our community’s most beloved events. Not only will you be helping a vital cause, but you’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy all the festivities—like the midway, car show, and craft fair—while making a difference. Selling tickets is a lot of fun, and it’s even better when you sign up with a friend, family member, or colleague. Roam the grounds, and those in attendance will be looking for the Food Bank’s red shirts and aprons because they want 50/50 tickets.

Volunteer Roles:

• Ticket Sellers: Must be over 18. You can choose to roam the grounds or work in the booth.

• Plinko Board Helpers: Open to everyone, including youth or the young at heart

• Sunday 8 am: Sort recycling. Not the most glamorous task, but it’s a quick and important fundraiser. We will ensure you have time to get to the Cornfest Community Service and luncheon.

Flexible Scheduling: We understand schedules can be tight, so if the listed shifts don’t work for you, we can adjust times or add extra volunteers to accommodate your availability.
