Premier Smith meets with local councils

Premier Danielle Smith was in Taber last week on J     uly 24, joined by Taber-Warner MLA Grant Hunter, and met with Councils from the MD and Town of Taber.

Social media posts from both municipalities were light on any specifics of what was actually discussed with the provincial representatives, with the MD stating the conversation was a “fantastic opportunity” to engage in “dynamic discussions… covering key topics vital to our community’s growth and well being.”

The Town was no more forthcoming in their own communications about the visit, suggesting it provided, “a wonderful opportunity to discuss a variety of important topics that impact our town and region.”

“We were excited to engage in meaningful conversations about our community’s needs and future development,” reads another portion of the Town’s post, “working together to enhance the quality of life for all residents.”

After meeting for lunch and following two hours of “spirited conversation”, the visit wrapped up with a tour of the newly-completed Phase 1 of the Horsefly Regional Emergency Spillway Project in the region.
