Taber citizens are being given the opportunity to voice any concerns regarding a development application for a potential cannabis retail location on Highway 3.
Town administration has received a development permit application for a cannabis retail business to be located at 5506 46th Avenue (Highway 3). As the parcel is currently zoned a Direct Control (DC-2) District, the application must be brought before council for decision.
Sec. 4.15.3 of Land Use Bylaw 14-2016 requires the town to follow an approval procedure for a development application in a Direct Control District, which includes issuing notice to all those located within 100 metres of the property boundary and to hear any persons that claim to be affected by the decision.
Following discussion at their Nov. 13 regular meeting, council voted unanimously to direct administration to advertise the proposed change of use development for cannabis retail to be located at 5506 46th Avenue (Lots 1-5, Block 21, Plan 6309L) for two weeks, and set the public hearing date for Nov. 26.
The development permit application (DP 18-101) was submitted by Bruce DeCoste (1879874 Alberta Ltd. O/A Supreme Green). The public hearing is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 26 in council chambers.
