Police release details on local drug bust

During the evening hours of August 25, 2015, members of the Taber Police Service conducted a short term drug investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in Taber, Alberta.

The investigation resulted in a traffic stop and culminating search warrant being conducted at a residence in the 5600 block of 56th Street in Taber, Alberta.

In total, Taber Police seized 11.25 ounces of marihuana, 7.2 ounces of psilocybin (magic mushrooms), 4.3 grams of cannabis resin and over $800.00 cash.

22 year old Mathew Marklinger of Taber has been charged with the following:

Possession of Cannabis Marihuana for the purposes of trafficking; Sec. 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;

Possession of Psilocybin for the purposes of trafficking; Sec. 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and

Possession of Cannabis Resin Sec. 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

He was released by a Justice of the Peace with conditions to appear September 1, 2015 at Taber Provincial Court.
