Recently, separatists operating under the name “Alberta Prosperity Project” held three meetings in the U.S. with officials in the Trump administration. The separatists are trying to obtain a $500 billion loan so as to fund their desired independent Alberta.
Literature and advertising used by these separatists promise a greatly richer Alberta after their desired independence. Why would a greatly richer independent Alberta need to borrow any money, much less half a trillion dollars? Do these separatists not have secession and independence fully planned, or are they flying by the seat of their pants? Additionally, how much more can they want, considering Alberta currently ranks first among Canadian provinces in gross domestic product per capita? For them, it seems, just as with Donald Trump, too much is never enough.
Also, one of these separatists’ promises is “freedom” for Alberta. How is being beholden to a malevolent mobster-in-chief and his malignant MAGA minions an enhancement of “freedom”? You can kiss freedom goodbye when that bunch calls the loan, because they are desperate for money. Never borrow from an impecunious lender! Consider the size of their national debt, which they have blithely ignored for decades, living on credit. They can’t even regularly fund their national government.
Leave aside, for the moment, possible treason in the separatists’ conspiring with agents of a foreign government for aid in dismembering our country. Why do these separatists wish to connect Alberta more strongly with an unreliable laughing-stock, a failing democracy which, in its decline, is unable to provide justice and health care to its people and whose reputation among allies is ruined from self-inflicted wounds?
The great lie of populists such as these separatists is that all they desire is uncomplicated, easy to achieve, and facts do not matter. P.T. Barnum said, “No one ever went broke underestimating the gullibility of the American public.” That is true in Alberta, too. The “Black Hat Gang” should be re-named the blackguard gang.

As a former Royal Bank manager I have a hard time believing how stupid these fellow seniors believing every lie these reformers feed them.
If it’s not bad enough that these fools are showing no respect to our Children’s and Grandchildren for the financial mess they have helped these Reformers create with a $90 billion debt, a $260 billion oil well cleanup mess, and a $30 billion deficit needed to repair roads, bridges and build 60 new schools we desperately need. Now they want to add another $500 billion to this financial stupidity, that’s how stupid they are. It’s no surprise to a banker that they need this $500 billion because they know these Reformers don’t have it and can’t help them, that’s how stupid this farce has become.
Can these mindless seniors explain to us how we will be better off when you will be adding $24,000. per year to a senior couples annual health care costs, and $43,000. to a young family of 4s. A private education system will cost Alberta families $1,000. each per month, per student. Replacing the RCMP will cost hundreds more per month to be added to your property taxes.
Then lawyers warn if Smith gets control of our Canada Pension Plans , and she will, there would be nothing stopping her from canceling them using the excuse that we have received a lot more than we ever paid into it. The most I ever paid was $114. per month I am getting $1,121.00 per month. I would be a fool to risk letting Smith destroy that wouldn’t I be?
Once more we see excellent comments from Gregory
He certainly knows what he is talking about.
Too bad these mindless seniors can’t see it.
It’s gotten so bad in the Edmonton area that young couples are telling us that they banned the seniors in their families from attending family gatherings at Christmas and birthday parties because of their stupidity and that’s sad, isn’t it?
So while these UCP clowns created the Alberta is Calling stupidity and offered Canadians $5,000. to move to Alberta, they now whine about the financial disaster it’s created for our healthcare and education systems. We knew it would, but that’s how stupid they are.
While she wants to waste billions on another oil pipeline oilmen state that if they hadn’t destroyed Lougheed’s oil royalties and corporate taxes there wouldn’t be the need for another one. This article proves it:
