Tip of the hat for saviours from flooding

Dear Editor:

On behalf of all residents of High River and area, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to that heroic Taber boat owner, Dale Somerville, who travelled with his boat to High River during our recent flood, and took flood victims out of harm’s way and into safer areas.

As former Taber residents ourselves, we know Taber people, generally, to be kind-hearted and helpful whenever possible. We enjoyed our 23 years in Taber, prior to our move to High River.

Pat and I escaped the worst of the flood ravages, and our only loss was our refrigerator and its contents. We were among the lucky ones!

Thanks to all who were concerned for our safety.
