Dear Editor,
The town employees, volunteers and all others involved are to be highly commended for the immediate and professional job in cleaning up the entire downtown after the completion of Cornfest activities.
I summarize with the word “remarkable” for the enormous task of bringing the Town back to normal in such a short period of time. I have been impressed for a long time by the loyalty and commitment the Town employees give to dressing up our town for our benefit.
The first responders can be given the same praise but in different terms. By and large, our town is a safe, secure and caring place in which to live. Whatever others may say about the services the employees, first responders and volunteers provide, I give all of them an A+.
Thank you,

Dear Editor,
Those of us whose families spent countless hours volunteering for the Lougheed and Getty governments can’t believe what a farce these phony conservatives, reformers, have become.
Not one of them is smart enough to suggest that we should be following in our hero Peter Lougheed’s footsteps of collecting proper royalties and taxes and running this province properly like he did and Alaska and Norway are doing.
The lies these UCP candidates have been spreading are hilarious but are too dangerous to ignore. Lawyers warn that Danielle Smith’s Alberta Sovereignty Act will likely cost us seniors our Old Age Security payments, Canada Pension Plan payments, and will definitely cost us our public health care benefits and why wouldn’t they? Ottawa isn’t going to support Albertans if Albertans won’t support them, like Smith claims, why should they? While my senior friends and I aren’t fans of Trudeau we are sick of this lie that Ottawa is stealing all our money when it’s these reformers who have been doing it. By helping their rich friends steal our oil and tax wealth in an effort to try to buy votes.
In fact, Ottawa has saved Albertans by providing us with an extra $30 billion during this pandemic and the latest oil industry crash. In addition, we aren’t going to bash Trudeau like these reformers do, including Pierre Poilievre for doing the right thing in banning assault rifles that can kill many people in a matter of seconds and handguns that can be hidden very easily.
Those of us who hunt know they can’t be used for hunting and should not be available for just anyone to buy and we know these reformers would never have helped Albertans out like Trudeau has done.

During the past 11 days in Edmonton we have had 9 shootings and 1 stabbing death making Trudeau’s plan to ban handguns more appealing.
