Reader appreciative of Japan trip explanation

Dear Editor:

I appreciate Mayor Prokop enlarging upon the reasons for the decision that council made re: the sending of the delegation to our twin city in Japan. I applaud him for being forthright about the issue. I feel that council is doing a very commendable job for all of us in Taber.

Closed door sessions are always a concern for the electorate in that sometimes it may be little more than a natural gathering of council members and administration to discuss agenda items for upcoming meetings. We expect that and accept that. Openness as much as possible from council strengthens our trust and continued support for the difficult decisions that council must make.
