I am surprised there is no mention at all in the Taber Times or the Vauxhall Advance about Derrick Krizsan’s resignation from the M.D. of Taber. A resignation that comes on the heels of a provincial award of excellence.
In my opinion it is controversial. There has only been four administrators in the entire history of the M.D., which has resulted in long-term stability and steady growth.
There is a hostile work environment at the M.D. created by three members of council, with no disciplinary action taken against them under the Council Code of Conduct. Staff morale is low, and in this environment, there will be more resignations and further instability. Shameful council behaviour, the recruiters must be pleased. It is time M.D. residents had a chat with their councillor.
Derrick’s last day is July 31. It was my privilege to work with Derrick for seven years and wish him all the best in the future. Derrick’s integrity, commitment to the community, and knowledge of agriculture will be missed.
