I recently found out that STARS Air Ambulance can no longer land or use the existing helipad at the Taber Hospital. Apparently this is due to acquiring a new, bigger helicopter which requires a larger, heavier-based landing pad.
The story I heard was that it is the responsibility of the Alberta Health Board to rectify this — those who are noted for “doing nothing” if they can get away with it!
I don’t know how myself, but there must be someone in this town who has the know-how and connections to rectify this. If so, the folks of Taber will be eternally grateful to have this resolved and STARS back in our lives. I know I will!
