The Filipino Canadian Association of Lethbridge Alberta (FCALA) maintained a full agenda throughout the year, hosting more than 20 planned events. This included collaboration with AFCLA G10+ (Alberta Fil-Can Leaders Association) as well as their yearly Filipino Heritage Festival held at Henderson Park. The highlight of the year was the support extended to Rufa Doria in her campaign to become a councillor for the city of Lethbridge.

As we say goodbye to the year, the FCALA organized their concluding event of the year, which was dedicated to giving back to the volunteers and sponsors who contributed to making another year of events successful.

On the holiday weekend of Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Lethbridge Multicultural Center the FCALA celebrated at their annual Year-End Gala. The Gala featured cultural Filipino dishes prepared by local Filipino restaurants for the attendees who purchased tickets. With their tickets, they had the opportunity to participate in a raffle draw for a chance to win various gifts from different sponsors.

While there was food and gifts to elevate their spirits, local talents were also present to help maintain the festive atmosphere.

President of FCALA, Vic L. Visitacion, had left a message for all the sponsors and volunteers who made this year one to remember: “Thank you so much to all our sponsors… we would like to celebrate all of our collaborations… and we would like to thank the different government officials… in making all of our events successful. With that, it’s been a successful year for the Filipino Canadian Association of Lethbridge Alberta.”

Recently elected Councillor and the representative for the City of Lethbridge, Rufa Doria also participated at the event and left a message for the community: “I’m so proud of you, and everything that you have done. It really helps the community and we need to continue this as we move forward to 2026.”

Happy New Year and all the best for 2026!
