NDP: NDP welcomes PC change of heart

Posted on April 21, 2015 by Taber Times

It seems one PC candidate finally started to listen to Albertans on the issue of corporate tax giveaways.
While Jim Prentice is working overtime to protect the PCs’ corporate tax breaks, his candidate and former Deputy Premier, Thomas Lukaszuk, says that after the election he would look at increasing corporate taxes.
Lukaszuk’s position was reported by Metro Edmonton reporter Ryan Tumilty, who tweeted, “PC candidate Thomas Lukaszuk says if elected he will advocate budget include modest corporate tax increases.”
The Alberta NDP has been calling on Jim Prentice to increase corporate taxes, but instead the PCs insist on having Albertans foot the bill for their mistakes.
According to government’s own budget survey, 69 percent of Albertans are in favour of corporate tax increases to help deal with the current fiscal situation.
Today, Thomas Lukaszuk, PC candidate for Edmonton-Castledowns, started listening to Albertans.
We hope Jim Prentice will start standing up for Alberta families soon as well.
