Big shout out to the Taber atom ‘A’ Oil Kings team.
They went undefeated in the season 15-0, but didn’t get to play in the playoffs because the CAHL president decided they would not get to play due to it being unfair to the rest of the teams, because ‘they were too good.’
The team kept their heads held high and played some exhibition games just to end the season. They played their hearts out even after they had been trodden on.
It’s hard to see a 10-year-old cry because they don’t understand why they can’t be in the playoffs.
It is so sad that the CAHL president and/or other teams in the atom ‘A’ felt it was necessary to oust a team in order that another team could be the winners.
Now that is what I call sportsmanship (not). Shame on the president of CAHL. I hope that they will receive the league banner which the team won fair and square, and this does not happen to another team because they are deemed too good.
