The Taber atom ‘B’ Oil Kings had a great weekend of Spud League hockey play, coming out with two wins.
The first was against Raymond on Saturday with an 18-5 win.
Kayden Kress led the way with five goals and three assists.
Zach Fehr registered two goals and three assists. Jaxson Coutts potted four goals and Damian Beswick had the hat trick. Tage Jensen had two goals and Tristen Egeland had a goal and an assist. Wyler Krahn had two assists and Tyson Church had a single helper. Shaylee DeBona faced 38 shots on goal for the win.
The team followed up with a 9-3 win over Picture Butte on Sunday.
Ryan Grey notched the hat trick. Jensen had two goals and Kress recorded two goals and two assists. Beswick had a goal and an assist and Krahn scored as well. Church, Egeland and Coutts all had assists. Debona earned the win in goal, facing 36 shots on net.
MIDGET: Taber midget Oil Kings split its pair of games in minor hockey competition.
Friday’s tilt was a 4-3 victory over Fort Macleod.
Kadin Reynolds potted two goals and Logan Wiebe and Ryan Hubble had singles.
Gavin Hoskins drew two assists with Hubble, Wiebe, Clay Leismeister, Nathan Kaye and Ryan Mankow getting single helpers.
The Oil Kings then dropped an 8-2 decision to Nanton on Sunday.
Leismeister and Dylan Jones scored for the Oil Kings with Leismeister also getting an assist. Also recording assists were Mitch Young, Darian Debona and Reynolds.
