Midget Oil Kings earn splits in physical match ups

Taber midget ‘A’ Oil Kings earned a split in hockey competition over the weekend.

Friday’s tilt was a 3-2 victory over Warner.

Matthew Kerkhoff had a goal and an assist in the win. Logan Wiebe had a goal and an assist. Dustyn McCraken rounded out the Oil Kings scoring who got assists from Dylan Jones and Clay Leismeister.

NOVICE: Taber novice Oil Kings won two games over the weekend. The first was a 14-2 win over Lethbridge on Saturday.

Avery Remfert scored four goals and Lincoln Weiss had a hat trick. Nixen Miller and Konnor Wiebe each had two goals and Heston Hansen, Roman Capner, and Ayden Umbach had singles.

The team then beat Oyen 16-11 on Sunday.

Chase Stronge had six goals. Umbach and Wiebe had hat tricks.Weiss notches two goals and Miller and Capner had singles.

INITIATION: Taber initiation 3 Oil Kings beat Vauxhall 14-3 in Vauxhall on Saturday in minor hockey play.

Kellon Schalk had four goals and Dane Degraw, Emmett Ruggles and Ethan Volk each had had tricks. Ryder Nielsen notched a single.
