Time is ticking down to Cornfest 2016 celebrations, and so too is registration for the hugely popular Cornfest Fun Run.
“Our numbers are on track to reach our typical goal of between 220 to 250 participants,” said Emily Bradbury, summer programs co-ordinator for the Town of Taber.
“Right now (late last week) we are at around 15O registrants where a lot come up and walk in the last week.”
The Cornfest Fun Run features a wide-range of runners, from the long-distance enthusiast, to the families who want to spend some quality time together was getting some exercise at Cornfest.
“We do get the hard-core runners who come down from Calgary and are running every weekend in the summer, right down to the families who do the run at their own pace,” said Bradbury.
Registrations will be taken right up until the morning of the run on Cornfest Saturday (Aug. 27) at 8 a.m. sharp as people gather in front of the Aquafun Centre for the race.
The 10-km race starts at 8:45 am sharp while the 5-km race starts at 9 a.m. The cost to race is $32 and no more T-shirts are available to order, but a few may be available to purchase the day of the race (first come first serve).
Race package pick up for runners is Aug. 26 1-4:30 p.m. and August 27 (day of the Cornfest Fun Run race) 7-8:30 a.m.
