Taber Recreation Master Plan user group surveys have gone out to the community, along with being available online, at the Taber Aquafun Centre, and town office.

“Yesterday they started coming back in and we had about 70 that have been turned in so far,” said Aline Holmen, recreation manager for the Town of Taber, in updating the recreation board at its April 2 meeting of the progress of the recreation master plan.

Anyone who had a mailbox within the Town of Taber had a survey mailed out to them, according to Holmen, adding 2,400 surveys were mailed out.

“There are people from the M.D. who have a mailbox in Taber. We also are making sure we are catching a lot of people that are coming into the pool,” said Holmen. “There’s also a link on the town’s website people can access for the survey that both local residents and the M.D. can use.”

Administration is starting to compile the data they have received from the surveys, and the deadline to return the household surveys is April 17. Completed surveys may be dropped off at the town administration building, Aquafun Centre, emailed to recreation@taber.ca or faxed to 403-223-5568.

“Once we hit June, people are scattering for holidays and you may not get as much participation,” said Holmen. “So we want to try and get in that workshop before then.”
