The 225 Taber Sponsoring Committee will be hosting a Pasta Supper and Silent Auction on March 14 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at the Legion Hall in Taber.

Stevie Farough, chair/president of the 225 Sponsoring Committee and parent of three kids currently serving in Cadets, said that this event is ‘a creative way to raise funds’ for the 225 Taber Air Cadet Squadron.

“This is an important fundraiser for the Royal Canadian Air Cadets program here in Taber,” said Farough. “The funds raised go directly toward supporting our cadets through training activities, community events, and program costs. The program provides youth with opportunities to develop leadership skills, confidence, and citizenship.”

This event, Farough said, was created to raise funds that were lost from the cancellation of the annual Fading Sons Tournament, a tournament that was cancelled due to the explosion that crippled the Taber Community Centre’s arena on Dec. 17, 2025.

“Our 225 Sponsoring Committee had to find a creative way to raise funds, and that’s how the pasta supper and silent auction came about,” said Farough.

“We’ve been incredibly grateful for the support from local businesses and community” said Farough. The meal includes pasta topped with a choice of red or white pasta sauce, Caesar salad, garlic bread, and dessert. In addition to that, Farough said, the evening will feature a silent auction as well as service by the cadet families members who have donated items.”

The doors open at 4:30 p.m.., at which time the silent auction starts. Dinner will be at 5:00, running concurrently with the auction. Both the dinner and auction will go until 7:00 p.m.

Farough noted that those interested in purchasing tickets can contact The Beary Patch and the Bottle Depot, or they can reach Stevie Farough at 403-894-7197 or Martin Hofmann at 403-635-0249.

“We’re really excited about the event,” said Farough. “It’s always encouraging to see the community come together to support our youth. Events like this remind us how strong and supportive Taber is. I encourage everyone to come out, enjoy a great meal, and support a program that truly makes a difference in young people’s lives. Every ticket purchased helps create opportunities for our cadets. Community support is what keeps programs like ours thriving.”
