Last month’s municipal election has concluded, and in the MD of Taber, Division 4’s Tamara Miyanaga is pleased to return as Reeve.
“I am honoured to serve the residents and businesses of Division 4, and the entirety of the MD of Taber,” shares Miyanaga. “I look forward to continuing the development of municipal and regional projects, while improving services. This will require new and innovative economic development.”
She notes that, “Council will review the strategic plan in January, but for the time being the priorities are a detailed Asset Management Plan, Land Management Plan for the 82,000 acres of municipally owned lands, and a Recreation Master Plan that supports hamlet and regional facilities, while recognizing the robust volunteer force.”
She details opportunities for citizen engagement, saying, “Our 85 firefighters, with the support of their families and employers, are incredible. Council cannot thank them enough for their willingness to protect and assist our residents. There are opportunities if you are interested in becoming a firefighter. I also encourage everyone to utilize the Service Tracker for concerns, subscribe to SCAR Notify for weekly updates, and check out our many social media platforms. The MD of Taber’s website offers details on municipal projects, available commercial and residential lots, online applications for fire permits, development applications, and so much more.”
Reeve Miyanaga concludes, “The MD of Taber is an incredible and diverse municipality that benefits from the vision and innovation of past residents, who passed on their values and work ethic to future generations. If you have questions or ideas, please call me or your councillor. Our phone numbers are listed on the website. You are always welcome at council and committee meetings. Council is here to serve all residents of the MD of Taber.”
