Uber Eats is now available in Taber, Alberta!

Over the last few years, Uber Eats has grown quickly from a platform where Canadians can get their favourite meals delivered to a one-stop-shop for anything you need—from grocery items, to pharmacy essentials, to alcohol,” said Keerthana Rang, a spokesperson for Uber Canada. “As the leading delivery platform in Canada, we’re more than twice the size of our largest competitor. We’re proud of the great experience we provide to eaters, merchants, and delivery people in the markets where we operate. We want to bring that Uber Eats magic to more Canadians across the country. When we consider expanding into new towns and cities, we look at where we are seeing interest from local residents and visitors. We also look at interest from local restaurants and talk to our existing restaurant partners. We see residents and visitors alike in towns like Taber opening the Uber Eats app, and so it makes sense for us as our next expansion to go here.”

Rang says that Taber residents can download Uber Eats on Google Play or the App Store. Those who are interested in seeing what Uber Eats have to offer in Taber, Rang says, can open the Uber Eats in Taber to take a look at the current offerings and selection and see local restaurants but also enterprise chains. Offerings and selection will expand over the coming weeks as more people learn Uber Eats is in Taber, Rang says.

“When you find something you like, you just tap to add it to your order,” said Rang. “When you’re ready to check out, you’ll see your address, an estimated delivery time, and the price of the order including tax and delivery fee. When everything looks right, just tap Place Order—and that’s it. You’ll be able to track your order in the app right from when the restaurant accepts it until it gets delivered to your door.”

Rang emphasizes that Uber Eats also encourages any interested local merchants to sign up to join the platform on https://merchants.ubereats.com/ca/en/s/signup/ or via the mobile app.

“We know there are still many communities across Alberta and Canada that would love to have Uber Eats available in their communities,” said Rang. “Looking ahead, we’re continuing to prioritize rapid growth, so even more Canadians have fast access to their favourite food and essentials delivered right to their doorsteps. Our expansion into new cities and towns like Taber creates flexible earning opportunities for locals from all walks of life who choose to deliver on the platform. People choose to deliver with Uber because they can earn on their own terms and work where and when they want. Delivery platforms like Uber Eats can also create a new revenue stream for local restaurants. Beyond offering delivery, the platform is a helpful marketing tool. People often use Uber Eats to discover new restaurants. In fact, 70 per cent of app-users have ordered from a restaurant they have never dined at before via a delivery app. We’re ultimately helping restaurants reach new customers, strengthen their customer base and generate repeat orders.”
