The 54th Street Players, as part of the W.R. Myers Drama Club, will be presenting their spring production next week.

A comedy about falling in and out of love, “Almost, Maine” features an ensemble cast of middle and high school actors.

“We have three younger students from grade six involved and the remaining nine cast members span grades nine through twelve,” said drama teacher Mark Harding. “I chose the play because it takes the audience on an emotional roller coaster, with some very cleverly written dialogue.”

Tickets are $15 dollars, and the play is being performed at W.R. Myers on May 8, 9, and 10. Doors open at 7, curtain at 7:30 p.m. On Friday, May 10 there will also be a matinee: Door 1:30, curtain at 2 p.m.

“Our twelve cast members have been working on the show since the middle of February,” continued Harding. “This will be our only show in 2024.”

Harding says Taberites should anticipate something special in store on May 8.

“It has been seven years since our last play at Myers. We are hoping for strong support from the people of Taber and the surrounding area. Our student actors have been working very hard, and have produced a very engaging and entertaining show.”

Harding thanked those who have helped make the production a success.

“I am grateful for the help of numerous colleagues including Mr. Hyrum Moriyama, Mrs. Jamie MacCormack, Mr. Darrell Bergman, and Mrs. Arica Jensen. I am additionally grateful for the help of Taber Players and in particular Mr. Ben Steinborn.”

Visit the W.R. Myers website or Facebook page to buy tickets online, or in person in the W.R Myers office.
