Harpell awarded Employee of the Year honours

The Taber and District Chamber of Commerce held their 2023 Annual Dinner and Awards at the Heritage Inn on Friday evening.

Decided through a live draw, bragging rights for the Employee of the Year was awarded to Fenny Harpell with Seasons Cafe and Eatery. An integral part of the organization and a long-standing employee as a server since 1976, Harpell’s committment and work ethic are second to none.

The other nominee vying for the award was Shelley Tilleman with the Taber Home and Farm Centre. A dedicated employee, Tilleman has worked for Taber Home and Farm for 15 years and goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Announced earlier in the lead up to the Jan. 19 banquet, Business of the Year was awarded to Horizon Family Dental, the Spirit of Taber went to Trail 77, and Citizen of the Year was awarded to Christopher Nguyen. Chamber president Jared Bell served as master of ceremonies for the awards night, and he also presented the chamber’s financial statements as part of the AGM.
