The Town of Taber Administrative Services Department has much to celebrate this week — being awarded 11 international Hermes Awards that were presented at council during their regular meeting the evening of June 13.
According to the agenda, “the Hermes Creative Awards is one of the oldest and largest creative competitions in the world and is administered by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals (AMCP). The award honors those creative and communications professionals who create the industries best publications, branding, collateral, websites, videos, advertising, marketing and communications programs.”
This marks the most awards won by a single department at one time, and also marks the receiving of Taber’s first three platinum awards.
Meghan Brennan, Communications and Projects coordinator took the stand to present to the council.
“Your Administrative Services Department is incredibly excited to be awarded 11 international Hermes creative awards this year. These mark not only the most awards won by any town department at one time but they also mark the first time the administrative services department has won three platinum awards which is the highest level the AMCP can provide. These awards were from all different projects but the majority did stem from the 2020 election which is typically our largest project that we ever work on. The Hermes awards are presented primarily for design and communications which is my realm of responsibility but as evidenced by the Veteran’s Banner project winning a platinum the awards also recognize communications work beyond what is expected of design. I am not an island, and communications cannot do any of this without our team, and I’d like to recognize them as part of these awards. It’s also thanks to those departments who are willing to cooperate with us and recognize our level of service that we are being recognized on an international level so I’d like to thank the towns various departments for trusting admin services to provide creative communications when they ask us.”
