A newly formed entertainment group is hoping to see Taber become the southern Alberta hub for music and concerts in the near future. Spider Entertainment was formed post-COVID by Ken Holst and the group has plenty of things on the go already. Coming next month, the group will be hosting a free concert featuring tons of local bands. The event is a beginning of summer/end of school bash that will be more than just a day of great live music.

“On June 24, Spider Entertainment is presenting a completely free concert. It’s a community event to promote getting out, having fun, being together, community wellness, and community togetherness. It’s really to highlight and celebrate local bands. We have a lot of great local talent here in the area. Another Simple Solution, Plum Crazy, Ransom Note, and 90 X Over will be playing at that concert. It’s going to get going around 5:30 p.m. and there will be food trucks, beer gardens put on by the Kinsmen, kids games, bouncy houses, and those types of things. Just for us to get together and have some fun,” explained Holst.

With the first event coming up in a few weeks, Holst is just excited at the opportunity to host a community event after two long, hard years of COVID restrictions.

“People are ready to be outside and there’s nothing like sitting outside with any type of beverage in your hand and listening to live music. It’s awesome and I think Taber is well-positioned. We draw from Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, Brooks, and really all of southern Alberta since we’re pretty central. It’s a good location for that,” he said.
