Myers baseball heading back to the diamond this spring

Baseball is back at W.R. Myers High School.
For the first time in a few years, Taber will play host to a high school baseball game, as the Rebels will play a doubleheader Saturday at Ken McDonald Memorial Sportspark.
Things get underway at noon, when the Rebels will take on Notre Dame. At 2:30 p.m., Vauxhall and Notre Dame will play in a neutral-site contest, before Myers and Vauxhall clash at 5 p.m.
“It will be two really good tests for us,” said Rebels coach Garrett Simmons. “With the weather, we’ve only been able to get in one game so far this season. The kids are excited to finally play some games.”
Myers sports a young and inexperienced roster for 2022, with a number of Grade 9s and a few Grade 12s with limited baseball experience.
“Our seniors haven’t played much, if any, baseball since elementary school,” said Simmons. “We’ve practised hard trying to build our fundamentals and find out who can play where and more importantly, who can give us some quality innings on the mound.”
