Oil Kings battle during February schedules

The U13 Oil Kings had a pretty successful weekend of CAHL hockey. 

On Saturday, the team welcomed Redcliff for an afternoon matinee which resulted in the home team winning 3-2. Julian Woordman had a goal and an assist in the win, while Delphin Deboer and Skylar Jensen each had a goal, and Blaise Odland had an assist. Ashton Jensen got the start between the pipes and made saves on 28 of 30 shots. 

Sunday afternoon saw the squad head to Duchess which resulted in a tough battle. When the final buzzer sounded, the teams were deadlocked 3-3. Deboer had two goals and an assist in the game, while Woordman collected the other Kings marker. Kellon Schalk, Blaise Odland, and Wiebe each had an assist as well. Jack Lukacs was the starting Taber netminder and made 35 of 38 saves.

The U13s have another pair of games coming this weekend. Saturday sees a rematch of Taber/Duchess with the game happening at the Taber Arena at 3 p.m. The Oil Kings finish the weekend with an away game in Lethbridge on Sunday.
