The Taber Oil Kings 2 started off with a Saturday 8-6 loss to the Brooks Flames.
Scoring for Taber was Roman Pavka with a hat trick, Lincoln Wiess had two goals, and Sam Tolsma had one goal.
Later Saturday, Taber defeated the Lethbridge Penguins 11-9. Scoring for Taber was Pavka and Tolsma with hat tricks. Connor Wiebe had goals and Brooke Friesen, Tyson Church and Tage Jensen each had a goal.
The Oil Kings 2 finished its tournament run on Sunday with a 17-6 loss to the Okotoks Stars.
Scoring for Taber Oil Kings 2 were Pavka with a hat trick, and Jensen, Tolsma and Church each with singles.
Taber Oil Kings 1 won two of its three games on the weekend, starting off with a 12-2 loss to Lethbridge on Saturday.
Jordan Genert and Nathan Planger scored for Taber.
Later on in the day, the team skated to a 13-10 win over Brooks.
Langdyn Cummins had three goals and one assist. Planger and Tanner Fletcher each had hat tricks. Kayden Kress had one goal and one assist. Rex Bell, Genert and Shaylee DeBona each had singles. Roman Capner had one assist.
Taber’s final game on Sunday was a 10-6 win over Chestermere. Bell and Planger each had three goals and one assist. Cummins, Fletcher, Genert and Kress had one goal each. Carter Ruggles had one assist.
NOVICE: The Taber novice 1 Oil Kings skated to an 11-7 win over Magrath Chiefs on the road on Saturday.
Connor Eldridge had four goals to go with an assist. Heath Hansen and Kade Duell both had hat tricks. Ainsley Duell rounded out the scoring with a single and an assist. Erik Grimson earned the win in net.
The team also earned a 9-6 win against South County Sabres on the road on Sunday.
Kade Duell had four goals to go with two assists. Hansen and Eldridge each had two goals apiece. Jaxson Coutts notched a single. Eldridge also drew an assist. Xavier Hull earned a win in net.
BANTAM: Taber bantam Tier-2 Oil Kings won both its hockey games over the weekend.
The first was a 10-1 thrashing of Cochrane. Kevin Turner notched the hat trick, and Daylen Parker and Ryan Hubble each had two goals apiece. Ryan Mankow, Gavin Hoskins, and Scott Loewen each had singles. Loewen also drew two assists along with Tyson Meier with single helpers going to Parker, Hubble, Quinn Slezak and Kadin Reynolds.
On Saturday, the Oil Kings edged Kneehill 3-2.
Ryan McDonald, Loewen, and Kevin Turner each had singles. Loewen drew two assists with Hoskins and Bryce Feldbusch getting single assists.
