With summer in full effect, work at W.R. Myers and D.A. Ferguson is full steam ahead before students return in September.
While the hope was to have students back into the facilities before school was let out for summer, the move in was delayed for early summer.
Now with the hope of completion at the end of the year, work is going to hit full stride in the summer.
“Because they are still working on some of the deficiencies in the building, the first phase is partial (completion). But there are still some deficiencies and they will be working on that over the summer. They will be starting on the second phase (in early July),” said Horizon vice-chair Bruce Francis at the board’s meeting on June 26.
Even with the finish line starting to come into sight for the Alberta Infrastructure-led project, the board knows plenty of things are still needed before it is deemed finished.
“There is still lots to be done there but they are still working on it,” said Francis.
